Sabujer Avijan is an NGO sustaining since 1947. A group of school students started Sabujer Avijan with a vision of new India. Playing, laughing and social activities are the primary objective of Sabujer Avijan without specific destination. Simply some young students gathered grassland of Sabujer Avijan with their necked feet to kick of the football and this group of boys always are at service to the people of Barrabazar, Chandannagar. 'Saraswati Puja' is one of their principal festivals involving all students of the surroundings. For last 30 years they have started activities on environmental awareness. The organization feels that there is no common platform for NGOs to discuss different issues on environment. Moreover, there is no arrangement of systematic training programme for development of awareness campaign among the persons dealing wiht different environmental issues. Students, reaserchers and teachers are suffering from inadequacy of study materials on environments.

Sabujer Avijan celebrated 25 years, 50 years and also 60 years with better maturity and also extended their activities in different spheres. Games, sports, social work and environment awakening programme are now the main object of Sabujer Avijan. The main present features are summarized below:-

• Our organization in collaboration with Partner, Hooghly, opened an institution for physically challenged persons and we are regularly arranging training programme for the physically challenged person and also opened a counter for selling the goods prepared by the physically challenged person.
• Prof. Prafulla Chakraborty Scholarship on education- Contact person with phone no. - Biswajit Mukherjee - 84205 29966. Prof. Prafulla Chakraborty (Rabindra Puroskar Awardee) was an eminent historian and educationist. He was very much associated with our organization and he acted as a philosopher of our club boys. • Sri Satya Charan Das Scholarship on games- Contact person Biswanath Chakraborty. Sri Satya Charan Das, was a pioneer body builder and he was a beloved teacher of a number of sports personalities in Chandannagar and its surroundings. This scholarship in the memory of Sri Satya Charan Das, is given to any institution or to any person requiring help for developing sports activities.
